The King’s Pistol are a unique, acoustic-driven trio from Cheshire. Formed in late 2014, the band secured a number of plays of their demo tracks on BBC Introducing, which encouraged them to record their debut album ‘Long was the Road, Dark was the Night.’ The Album was recorded over 4 days, entirely live to tape and released on vinyl through their own ‘Duel Real Records’ in the Autumn of 2015. The record is stocked in local independent record stores, through the bands online store and in line with their DIY / Punk rock ethic, sold from the boots of their cars. The sound of the band draws from the darker side of English folk music as well as Americana and 60’s psychedelia such as Love and The Doors. The band is currently playing an extensive number of gigs across the Northwest and Midlands to promote their 2nd album “Songs from the Ghost Road” and is currently looking for gigs further afield. Alongside the album the band have released a single “Wedding Song” which is accompanied by a video directed by local filmmaker John Williams.
Storming the Birmingham music scene, this newly formed vibrant mix of Midlands based musicians have already had huge success at the Birmingham International Jazz Festival and local venues, tipped as the the “best find in 2016”. A high energy band, playing Emma’s original blues tracks all the way through to more recent covers. However you won’t of heard them played like this before! Featuring Baz Newey on bass, Dan Machin on guitar and Roy Adams on drums.
